Chosen Vision provides a quality home environment that enables each resident to live up to his/her own potential within a caring, faith-based environment. We are grateful to God who by His providence has brought together very special individuals as residents and a group of caring and conscientious staff.
In each home, the residents are encouraged to assume as much independence as is appropriate and safe for everyone. Each of our residents have their own bedroom and may decorate it as desired. Some assume responsibility for doing laundry and making their own beds. They also enjoy helping staff with cooking and baking. We emphasize the philosophy that Chosen Vision is home to each resident. Their space needs to be respected and their desire for privacy needs to be protected. We have staff onsite 24/7 to ensure a secure and safe haven for our residents.
Today, Chosen Vision has five homes, 30 residents, a full-time Home Administrator, and 20+ part-time employees.
Through the commitment of many volunteers and board members, and the generous contributions of a core group of donors, the original goal to develop a home for developmentally disabled adults became a reality in the year 2001. On August 1, 2001, Chosen Vision entered into a one-year lease (with an option to purchase) on a relatively new, large, barrier-free six-bedroom home located on two acres of scenic countryside with a view of the Grand River. Our first Chosen Vision home is located in Delta Township (northeast of Grand Ledge).
DEWITT HOME FOR LADIES
Our second home was established in DeWitt, Michigan in 2013 because of our generous donors.
This home provides independence in a family environment for six high-functioning, developmentally disabled women. The ladies have shown an appreciable increase of self-esteem and self-confidence in their new living environment.
DEWITT HOME FOR MEN
We are truly thankful for the time, talents, and treasures of those who have given so much toward making this home a reality! This project started with just a few parents asking questions. The idea quickly took off, and before we knew it, we broke ground in May of 2014. In 2015, less than one year from our groundbreaking, the house was completed, and the guys moved in.
JOSHUA’S PLACE FOR MEN
A wonderful person had a dream to establish this home and with God’s blessing and commitment of many, it came to fruition in 2018. Joshua’s place is Chosen Vision’s fourth home; second home for men.
You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. — Deuteronomy 28:6.
AUSTIN’S HOUSE FOR MEN
Chosen Vision has been blessed with our fifth home, Austin’s House, and therefore six male residents will be blessed in return. Our fifth home welcomed new residents in July of 2023. Luke and Janet Pohl (Austin’s parents) and the Austin House Board donated the home.
